Phase 1 - Orientation

This phase covers your arrival and first couple of days, a shakedown and a chance to settle in Mongolia. Briefings, introductions and final planning are carried out.

Some or all of the following will be covered in short and informative sessions:-

• A welcome to Mongolia
   
• Introduction to Leaders, guides, translators, support crew etc
   
• An introduction to Mongolian Culture, history and religion
   
• An orientation to Ulaan Baatar and our accommodation
   
• A short overview of Mongolian language
   
• Our Safety Management System, RA and responsibilities
   
• The Aims and Objectives of the expedition
   
• Care of the environment including; Energy use, Waste disposal, Water use, etc
   
• Use of technical equipment GWM provide
   
• Your programme and any changes
   
• Where to shop and what sort of things you can buy. (both for the expedition and as souvineers)

These sessions are conducted by a GWM director and are based in your hotel or hostel.

A thorough environmental briefing is completed	Safety issues and personal responsibilities are covered during the orientation

We plan all our Schools Development Expeditions from a blank sheet of paper. All we need is some basic information from you and we'll develop a bespoke programme.
